Department of Law Hosts Reception Ceremony to Welcome the New Dean and Honors the Immediate Past Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law

The Department of Law, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), successfully organized a reception programme on 19 July 2026 at 10:00 AM in Room A-601 to warmly welcome Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder as the newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law and to honor Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, the immediate past Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, for his outstanding contributions to the Faculty.

The programme was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, who welcomed Professor Dr. Talukder and expressed his confidence in the new Dean's leadership and vision for the Faculty of Law. Professor Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Treasurer of Green University of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean of the Green Business School and immediate past Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Chairperson of the Department of Law, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Associate Professor, Department of Law and Proctor of Green University of Bangladesh, along with the honourable faculty members, and students of the Department of Law, attended the programme.

During the programme, the distinguished guests and faculty members delivered speeches welcoming Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder as the new Dean of the Faculty of Law. They also expressed their sincere appreciation to Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz for his dedicated service and outstanding contribution to the Faculty while serving as the Acting Dean in addition to his responsibilities as Dean of the Green Business School.

As a token of gratitude and appreciation, Professor Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz was presented with a crest in recognition of his exceptional leadership and invaluable contributions to the Faculty of Law during his tenure as Acting Dean.

Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder has recently joined the Faculty of Law, Green University of Bangladesh. He is a distinguished legal scholar with extensive experience in legal education, research, and academic administration. Prior to joining Green University of Bangladesh, he served as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and as the Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh.

In his remarks, Professor Dr. S. M. Hassan Talukder expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh for attending the programme. He also thanked the faculty members and students for the warm reception. He reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively to strengthen legal education, research, and academic excellence at the Faculty of Law.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Chairperson of the Department of Law, who expressed his sincere appreciation to the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, distinguished guests, faculty members, and students for their presence and support in making the event a success.
