Successful Completion of the “Law Fest-2026”

The Department of Law, Green University of Bangladesh, successfully organized and conducted “Law Fest 2026” on 20 June 2026 on the campus of Green University of Bangladesh. The event was designed to promote academic excellence, advocacy skills, student engagement, sportsmanship, and cultural enrichment beyond the classroom.

The program commenced with a colorful rally participated in by students, faculty members of the Department of Law, distinguished guests, Chairpersons of different departments, and Deans of various faculties. Following the rally, Law Fest 2026 was formally inaugurated through a symbolic pigeon release ceremony by the Honorable Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, and the Special Guest, Mr. Rashed Mamun Apu, renowned Actor and Director.

During the inaugural session, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, Dean (Acting), Faculty of Law, emphasized the growing prominence and achievements of the Department of Law. Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, shared his valuable remarks emphasizing academic excellence and personal development. The Special Guest, Mr. Rashed Mamun Apu, inspired the students through his engaging speech. Thereafter, the Honorable Vice Chancellor delivered a brief but inspiring address encouraging students to pursue excellence in both academic and professional life. The Chair of the Program, Dr. Md. Arifuzzaman, Chairperson, Department of Law, concluded the inaugural session with his remarks, warmly welcoming the students and reaffirming the Department’s commitment to nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible future legal professionals.

Following the inauguration, the Final Round of the 2nd Intra-Department Moot Court Competition was held, while outdoor sports events, including the 100-Meter Sprint (Male), 50-Meter Sprint (Female), Tug of War, and Musical Chair Competition, were conducted simultaneously. With the dedicated efforts of the faculty members and volunteers, all activities were completed successfully and enthusiastically.

The indoor segment began with a lively Fun Debate titled “Who Will Be the Champion of the FIFA World Cup 2026?”, where students represented Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Croatia. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the spirited arguments and presentations. Following the prayer and lunch break, a Kahoot-based Quiz Competition was organized, encouraging students to demonstrate their legal knowledge in an engaging and interactive manner.

The Cultural Program added another vibrant dimension to the fest, featuring performances by both students and faculty members. We were delighted that the Honorable Vice Chancellor joined this segment and enjoyed the performances alongside the participants. The program was followed by the Prize-Giving Ceremony, where winners of the Moot Court Competition, sports events, quiz competition, and other activities were recognized for their outstanding achievements. The event concluded with a BBQ session, creating an opportunity for students, faculty members, and guests to interact and celebrate together.
